A special programme on International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and International Humanitarian Law (IHL) was conducted at the auditorium Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) on Wednesday (15).

Brigadier (Retd) Jacques Hemay and Mr. Channa Jayawardane conducted awareness lectures and programmes at the request of the Commandant, Brigadier RADS Shantha Ranaweera RWP RSP USP psc. The main objective of the lecture was to provide a concise idea on the subjects of International Humanitarian Law, International Committee of the Red Cross, Child protection, Sexual Violence, Conflict Environment & Humanitarian Consequences and Applicability of IHL in UN Peacekeeping Operations.

On the directions of Chief Instructor Lieutenant Colonel RA Samaranayaka USP psc the Staff Officer II (Training Wing) Major PLDK Pelpola psc facilitated the event. All student Officers of United Nations Military Observers Course (UNMOC) Sri Lanka – 2020 participated in the lecture.
