Col B M S K K Dharamawardena RWP RSP USP arrived to the 2 Commando Regiment Kilinochchi marking his official camp visit after taking over the duties as the 14th Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre Commando Regiment on 23rd March 2022.
According to the agenda Lt Col R M R S Rathnayake RSP USP, The Commanding Officer, 2 Commando Regiment welcomed the visiting Centre Commandant on arrival at the camp premises. As per the military formalities, the Centre Commandant at the entrance inspected the Guard Turnout.
After Guard Turnout, the Centre Commandant sat for a group photograph with all Officers and Other Ranks of 2 Commando Regiment. After that, Centre Commandant joined the conference which was held at conference hall 2 Commando Regiment with the participation of Commanding Officer, Second in Command, Officer Commanding – Admin Wing, Group OCs, Int Officer and QM. At this moment Commanding Officer briefly explained the Deployment, Strength, Training, Constructions and Suggestions of the 2 Commando Regiment to The Centre Commandant. Later on, he addressed the troops (09x175). during his speech, the Commandant stressed upon the necessity of getting together in order to enhance the core values and dignity of the Commandos.
As a customary after the troops address, the senior officer planted a sapling at the office complex to make the visit a memorable one. As the next segment of the agenda, the Centre Commandant visited around the camp premises covering Q Stores, MT Section, Ration Stores, Main Kitchen, Armory, Canteen and NCO’s Accommodations and later participated to the All Rank Lunch prepared at Corporals’ Club.
At the end of the day, there was an Interactive session held at Officers’ Mess with the presence of the Commander 1 Corps and Colonel of the Regiment of the Commando Regiment Maj Gen A K G K U Gnanaratne ndc psc.
On 24th March Morning, Colonel B M S K K Dharmawardena RWP RSP USP, the Centre Commandant Commando Regimental Centre departed from the 2 Commando Regiment after signing the Visitors’ Book.
