Pirith chanting ceremony and alms-giving were held in view of the 42nd Anniversary of the Commando Regiment, at the Regimental Centre Commando Regimental on 13th and 14th March 2022.
Pirith chanting ceremony was held after a colourful traditional Perahara commenced in front of the main entrance of the Headquarters Commando Brigade and ended in front of the Regimental Headquarters building on 13th March, in accordance with all the health guidelines of the government and the Army Headquarters.
The alms-giving in which alms were offered to 42 monks was held on 14th March at the Commando Regimental Centre Lecture Hall with the presence of Commander Commando Brigade and the Regimental Centre Commandant. Subsequently, a floral tribute was held at the Commando War Memorial in memory of fallen Commandos who sacrificed their invaluable lives in the name of motherland.
Senior Officers of the regiment along with Commando Officers who are employed in Colombo and suburbs and parents and family members of fallen war heroes attended the occasion.
