COMMANDOS PRODUCED 56 MORE HOSTAGE RESCUERS AND 32 K 9 HANDLERS TO THE ARMY

Graduation ceremony of Hostage Rescue and Counter Terrorist (HR & CT) Course No 28 and War Dog Handlers Course No 09 was held with the presence of the Chief of Defense Staff, Commander of the Army and the Head of the National Operation Centre for the Prevention of Covid – 19 General L H S C Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil as the Chief Guest at the Commando Regimental Centre on Wednesday (07) evening.

After a drive-pass Guard Turnout saluted to the Chief Guest on arrival at the premises, Major General Upali Rajapaksha Commander, Security Forces - Mullaitivu and Colonel of the Regiment of the CR and Major General Krishantha Gnanaratne, Commandant, SLMA welcomed the Chief Guest.

Three officers and fifty three other rankers who have successfully completed the four months long HR & CT Course and thirty two other rankers who have successfully completed War Dog Handlers Course were graduated at the ceremony. The Graduation ceremony was consisted of the passing out parade followed by a group photograph and the final presentation (Hostage Rescue Operation - Mogadishu) of the HR & CR course with demonstrations.

Major General Senarath Bandara, Chief of Staff, Major General Wasantha Madola, Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda, Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General Wasantha Abrew, Commander, Security Forces-West, Major General Priyanka Fernando, Director General General Staff, Major General Nihal Amarasekara, Chief Field Engineer, Major General Asoka Peiris, Chief Signal Officer, Directors, Commando Regiment Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were associated with the event.
