COMMANDOS EXTEND ASSITANCE TO CIVIL AUTHORITIES IN FLOOD SITUATION

As per the Official request made by the Divisional Secretariat of Ja-Ela Division, 8 Man Team of Commandos distributed more than 2000 Hot Meal Packets for the affected Families in General Area Bandigoda, Ja-Ela, and another team involved to distribute pre arrange meal packets to flood affected area in kirindiwita, Gampaha on 05, 06 and 07 of June 2021. Assistances was provided Under the Supervision of Major General R P D U Rajapaksha RWP RSP the Colonel of the Regiment and Brigadier A S P Silva RWP RSP the Commandant of the Regimental Centre of the Commando Regiment. The Commando Regiment was once again able to showcase their versatility in their role and task by not limiting to their primary combat role and assisting civil authorities under the extreme weather condition. The effort was praised by the affected public in the area. Apart from that, additional Commando relief teams are kept on standby to be employ under any emergency.
