Troops of the Commando Regiment Training School (CRTS) constructed a two bedroom house as a CSR (Cooperate Social Responsibility) project for a five-member needy family at Kithulkote, Thanamalwila in Monaragala District. A simple house-warming ceremony preceded by religious observances was held to hand over the keys to the beneficiary, Mrs K. Sumanawathi Wijayakumarasinghe by Rev. Derangala Kusalagnana Thero in the presence of the Chief Instructor, Major Wasantha Wijesekara and troops of CRTS who intimately involved in the construction.
The total financial value of the CSR project is nearly 2 Million Rupees funded by Rotary Club Battaramulla, Rev. Derangala Kusalagnana Thero and several other donors from Missisaga Buddhist Temple in Ontario Canada. Troops of CRTS provided the skilled labour and manpower assistance for the project. The beneficiaries and the donors immensely appreciated the meritorious deed of the Commandos.
The CSR initiative was implemented under the guidance and supervision of Commander 1 Corps and Colonel of the Regiment of the Commando Regiment, Major General Crishantha Gnanaratne and coordinated by Major General Susil Chandrapala (Retd) of Rotary Club, Battaramulla.
