The Commando Challenge began with the adventurous three-day expedition was launched on 03 October from Kandy and terminated at CRTS Kuda Oya with the participation of competitors representing Cooperative sector, adventure lovers and other enthusiastic sports clubs. The whole journey covering a distance of 566 Km was successfully completed on 05 October 2016.
Two days after the expedition, super cross events were conducted at newly constructed Racing Track at CRTS Uva Kudaoya on 09 October 2016. The total events were held at the newly constructed 1.68 Km long super cross track at CRTS Uva Kudaoya which is considered to be the longest and fastest racing track in the Island with its origin. The Super Cross comprised over 10 motor car and 12 Motor cycle encounters with the participation over 100 competitors including all leading champions in the field.
The event was organized by Commando Regiment in collaboration with SLARDAR aimed at supporting the welfare and development of the Commando Regiment. CEAT Sri Lanka held the principal sponsorship of the event.
