After completing almost one year service as the ninth Commanding Officer of 4 Commando Regiment Lt Col US Pilapitiya RSP psc relinquished duties on 17 February 2020. He was saluted with a Guard Turnout after he was warmly received by the Second In Command ,Maj Sanjeewa Nawarathne RSP psc.
Lt Col US Pilapitiya RSP psc afterwards conclude his service as the Commanding Officer of 4 Commando regiment making a farewell speech to his under commands.
