BLESSING CEREMONY AT JAYA SRI MAHA BODIYA PRIOR TO CELEBRATION OF 42 ANNIVERSARY OF COMMANDO REGIMENT

The chain of religious blessing ceremonies prior to celebration of 42 anniversary of Commando Regiment was began with obtaining blessing from Jaya Sri Maha Boodhi at morning hours of 10th March 2022. The event was organized by the 3rd Commando Regiment.

Commander 1 Corps and the Colonel of the Regiment of the Commando Regiment - Maj Gen AKGKU Gnanaratne ndc psc, BGS- SFHQ (Wanni) - Brig DNJ Fernando RSP USP, the Commander Commando Brigade - Brig VMN Hettiarachchi RWP RSP, Centre Commandant of the Commando Regiment - Col BMSKK Dharmawardena RWP RSP USP and gathering of other senior officers with 100 Commandos presented during the session.

The customary spectacles began all after invoke blessing on all flags of the Commando Regiment, Commando Brigade, all units and training schools. Thereafter, the Colonel of the Regiment and all other senior officers attended for the “Pahan Poojawa”, laid lotus flowers around the foot of secret Jaya Srimaha Boodhiya, followed by “Kiri Ahara poojawa” & Boodhi Poojawa and prayed for well-being of the Commando Regiment, all those commandos paid their supreme lives for the motherland and all those who serving at present.
