The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Commando Regiment held its Annual General Meeting on 31st March 2025 at the Commando Regiment Centre, Ganemulla, in a dignified and collaborative atmosphere. The event brought together members of the Seva Vanitha community with the aim of reviewing past initiatives and planning for the year ahead.
The meeting was held under the patronage of Mrs Samindie Wickramaratne, President of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch. The occasion was further honoured by the presence of the Advisor to the Branch, Commander of the 53 Infantry Division, and Colonel of the Regiment, Major General KHMS Wickramaratne RSP, with the participation of the President, Senior Members and general members added great value and encouragement to the proceedings.
One of the key highlights of the AGM was the election of new Executive Committee members, ensuring the continuation of the branch’s leadership and its commitment to welfare projects. Mrs Samindie Wickramaratne warmly thanked all members for their steadfast support and highlighted the accomplishments of the past year. She emphasized the importance of unity and voluntary service and spoke about the upcoming events and initiatives planned for the year. The floor was also opened for suggestions and views from members, creating a platform for shared ideas and collaborative planning.
Finally, the President highlighted with the closing remark that the AGM not only marked the beginning of a new administrative chapter but also reaffirmed the branch’s ongoing dedication to the welfare of Commando Regiment personnel and their families. The event concluded with lunch and friendly fellowship, strengthening bonds among the members.
