Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc, formally relinquished his duties as the 16th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services (CES) on 17th January 2026.
Upon his arrival at the Regimental Headquarters, the Outgoing Colonel Commandant was ceremonially received by Brigadier MSD Perera USP ptsc, the Centre Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services, and was accorded a ceremonial guard turnout, followed by in recognition of his exemplary service. He was then honoured with a ceremonial parade, reflecting the pride and respect of the regiment. Thereafter, he participated in a group photograph session symbolising and commemorating his tenure as the Colonel Commandant.
Following these formalities, the Outgoing Colonel Commandant officially relinquished the appointment of Colonel Commandant, CES, by signing the relevant official documents at his office. He then addressed all ranks, during which he reflected on the significant achievements accomplished by the regiment during his tenure and expressed his deep appreciation for the dedication and tireless service rendered by officers and other ranks. He also paid visits to the Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess, where he engaged with members and recorded his remarks in the visitors’ book.
Later in the evening, a farewell dinner was hosted in his honour at the officers’ mess.
Senior Officers, officers, and other ranks were present and actively participated in the event.
