Maj HMSJ Bandara CES assumed duties as the Commanding Officer of 1Engineer Services Regiment on 10 March 2025 at Headquarters of 1 ESR, Panagoda.
He was a proud product of Ibbagamuwa Central College, Kurunegala and was enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army in year 2010 as a Direct Enlisted Officer.
Prior to this appointment he has held an appointment of Commanding Officer of 2 Engineer Services Regiment. Other key appointments he has held were Garrison Engineer (Min) at 3 ESR, Officer Commanding of 11 ESS (PNG), HQ OC - 1 ESR, Second in Command of 3 ESR and 5 ESR and Staff Officer I (Planning) at Directorate of Engineer Services.
Maj SumedaBandarahas followed Senior Command Course, ButtalaEngineering Officer Work Procedure Course, India and Military Engineering Service Course, China.
