MAJOR GENERAL K A N RASIKA KUMARA ndc psc ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE 16th COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE CORPS OF ENGINEER SERVICES

Major General K A N Rasika Kumara ndc psc, the Director General Media and Psychological Operations and the Media Spoke Person of the Sri Lanka Army assumed duties as the 16^th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services on August 20, 2024.

The incoming Colonel Commandant received a warm welcome from the Centre Commandant CES, Brigadier KL Munasinghe USP at the main entrance of the regimental headquarters and was accorded a guard turnout followed by the laying of a wreath as a floral tribute to the brave fallen war heroes of the Corps of Engineer Services. In accordance with military traditions, a colorful guard of honour was awarded as a salute to the incoming Colonel Commandant Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc.

Amidst religious ceremonies Colonel Commandant placed his signature on an official document, symbolizing the formal acceptance of his office. Subsequent to assuming duties, a group photograph was taken with the officers who participated the event followed by planting a Mango sapling to mark the occasion.

After the assuming of duties, he addressed the officers and other ranks, highlighting his scope of work and duties in the days to come. Subsequent to the address, Colonel Commandant had an informal interaction with the troops over a cup of tea. Finally, the ceremony culminated with the formal address to all officers.
