The Military Secretary and Colonel Commandant of Corps of Engineer Service, Major General IANB Perera RWP USP ndu psc conducted battalion visit to 12 (V) ESR, Kamburupitiya on 15th August 2024.
Upon the arrival the vising Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by Commanding Officer 12(V) Maj KWGUM Gunathilake USP Lsc CES and accorded with a Guard Turnout showcasing the military discipline.
The unveiling of newly constructed Officers’ Mess brought a distinctive and memorable value to the visit.
Then the Colonel Commandant posed for a group photograph with officers of the unit and planted a sapling to make the visit more memorable.
Following the agenda of the day, the Visiting Senior Officers were accompanied to the Commanding Officer’s office for the comprehensive briefing about the unit and he shared his thoughts with the troops during All Ranks address.
Before his departure he penned his compliments in the visitors’ book, a tradition solidifying his visit and the regiment's history.
The Deputy Centre Commandant Colonel I P Hettiarachchi USP joined the visit.
