The Military Secretary and the Colonel Commandant CES, Major General Buddhika Perera RWP USP ndu psc made his maiden visit to 11 Engineering Services Regiment, in Kilinochchi on 11 August 2024.
The Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Second in Command of 11 ESR Maj DAMA Doowearachchi psc CES along with all Officers, and Other Ranks.
The visit commenced with a Drive Pass Salute followed by comprehensive briefing conducted by the Second in Command on the current operational and administration commitment of the unit. Afterward, the officers along with the Colonel Commandant posed for a group photograph and a sapling was planted at the camp premises.
Later, the Colonel Commandant addressed all ranks and stressed the importance of maintaining good discipline, upholding professionalism, and the continuous need for rigorous training.
Thereafter, the senior officer conducted an inspection of the camp compound, paying particular attention to the welfare facilities available to the soldiers. He also took this as an opportunity to interact with officers, other ranks and civil staff of 11 Engineer Services Regiment.
Finally Colonel Commandant signed the visitors’ book at the Officers mess.
The Centre Commandant Corps of Engineer Services, Brigadier KL Munasinghe USP attended the day’s programme.
