The Military Secretary and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services, Major General IANB Perera RWP USP ndu psc made battalion visit to 15(V) Engineer Services Regiment in Bulnewa on 27thJuly. The Commanding Officer, Lt Col SBTP De Silva CES extended a warm welcome to the Colonel Commandant on his arrival and was then accorded a guard turnout showcasing the regiment's discipline.
In line with the agenda, the Commanding Officer briefed the Colonel Commandant on the unit's tasks, responsibilities, and recent achievements, highlighting its vital role in supporting the military and civil community.
Thereafter Major General Buddhika Perera posed for a group photograph with officers of the unit to commemorate the visit and then planted a sapling, symbolizing the regiment's commitment to environmental responsibility and future success.
The Colonel Commandant addressed the troops, commending their dedication and professionalism and he further stressed upon the military and personal discipline of the soldiers and its impact on their personal life, Corps and the whole Army.
Then Colonel Commandant was accompanied to tea arranged by the unit which enabled to have an informal interaction with all ranks.
The Colonel Commandant inspected the camp premises, paying particular attention to the welfare facilities available to the soldiers and gave guidance for progressive improvement.
Before his departure, he penned his compliments in the visitors' book, a tradition solidifying his visit and the regiment's history. This significant event highlighted the regiment's professionalism, dedication, and vital role in the Sri Lankan military, further strengthening the bonds within the unit.
Colonel MSD Perera USP ptsc, the Deputy Centre Commandant of the CES, Senior Officers, Officers and other ranks joined the event.
