MR. MOHAN SAMARANAYAKE ILLUMINATES INTERNATIONAL CONFLICTS AT DINERS CLUB OF CORPS OF ENGINEER SERVICES

The Corps of Engineer Services arranged a Diners’ Club, an engaging and thought provoking event featuring distinguished Mr. Mohan Samaranayake, as the guest speaker. This inspiring event was held on last Friday Evening (July 26) at officers’ Mess of Regimental Headquarters, Corps of Engineer Services.

The gathering brought together The Colonel Commandant of Corps of Engineer Services, Major General IANB Perera RWP USP ndu psc, the Director Engineer Services Brigadier YKS Rangika psc ptsc, the Centre Commandant of Corps of Engineer Services Brigadier KL Munasinghe USP, senior officers and majority of young officers of the corps.

Mr. Samaranayake, renowned for his extensive expertise as a Senior Journalist and an analyst on International Affairs, captivated the audience with his keynote address on most pressing geopolitical conflicts of our time, Ukraine Russia war and the Israel Palestine conflict.

Mr. Mohan Samaranayake opened the lecture with a comprehensive analysis of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. He provided a historical context, tracing the roots of the conflict back to the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the complex relationship between Russia and Ukraine. Emphasizing the strategic, political, and cultural dimensions, Mr. Mohan highlighted how historical grievances and geopolitical ambitions have shaped the current conflict.

Transitioning to the Israel-Palestine conflict, Mr. Mohan provided an equally insightful analysis of the long-standing and deeply entrenched hostilities. He outlined the historical milestones of the conflict, including the establishment of Israel, key wars, and peace initiatives that have shaped the current landscape.
