The Corps of Engineer Services celebrated its 72nd anniversary in a grand scale at the Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters at Panagoda on 10 January 2022. Brigadier KMS Kumara the Director Engineer Services and the Colonel Commandant CES graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and he was warmly welcomed by Brigadier SN Kithulgoda USP the Centre Commandant CES at the main entrance of the Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters. After receiving the Guard Turnout accorded the Colonel Commandant, he placed floral tributes at the Corps of Engineer Services War Heroes Memorial in honour of fallen War Heroes. Thereafter, in accordance with military formalities, a colorful parade was held in salute of the Colonel Commandant.
After appearing for the group photographs with Officers, the Colonel Commandant cut the “Birthday Cake” at the Officers’ Mess to mark the 72nd Anniversary of the Corps and addressed all the Officers present. All-rank lunch, headed by the Chief Guest brought the days’ programme to culmination.
