Brigadier R Ganegoda psc the Director Engineer Services and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services visited the 11 Engineer Services Regiment on 21 February 2020 in order to open the “Wadula” Kabana Holiday Resort and the RO plant. A guard of Honor was accorded to Col Comdt in the morning and an introduction presentation was presented by the Commanding Officer of 11 Engineer Services Regiment Maj PAAS Perera in his office.
“Wadula” Kabana Resort was newly built for visitors who wish to visit the Kilinochchi area and around. Construction of this kabana is a concept of the present Commanding Officer and the laying of foundation was done on 13 June 2019.
A glass of purified water from the plant was offered to the Col Comdt at that moment. RO systems remove pollutants from the water including nitrate, pesticides, sulfates, fluoride, bacteria and arsenic contaminants. RO also improves taste, odor and appearance of water by removing above contaminants.
In memory of this great occasion a memorial mango tree by the hands of the Col Comdt and 150 coconut trees were planted.
