SPR KUMARA RGD OF CORPS OF ENGINEER SERVICES WAS PRESENTED WITH A COMMENDATION BADGE BY THE COMMANDER OF THE ARMY.

On 18.04.2023 afternoon at Boossa railway station, a thief stole a golden necklace worth about 02 pounds from the neck of a woman who was boarding the train and ran forward along the railway track. When the woman screamed for help, S/S108169 Spr Kumara RGD of Corps of Engineer Services who waited at this railway station, chased the thief despite the risk of his live, caught the thief alive and handed over the thief and the necklace to the policemen of the Rathgama Police Station, who arrived at the scene.

In appreciation of the noble action of this soldier, the Commander of the Army appreciated Spr Kumara RGD with a commendation badge at the ceremony held on the occasion of the 74th Army Day.
