Considering the importance of supplying subsidized food items to both Army and Civil Personnel in the area, The Welfare Shop that was functioned by the Corps of Engineer Services at the RHQ CES premises was recently relocated in the \"ground floor\" of the newly constructed Three Storied Shopping Complex that belong to our Corps which is situated facing the High-level Road and it was reopened as the \"Creators Welfare Shop\" in a new face, solely for the purpose of providing a better welfare service for our troops.
The troops who are serving in the Army establishments within the \"area of responsibility\" of the Security Force Headquarters (West) such as Kalutara, Gampaha, Galle, Matara, Hambantota, Kegalle, Kurunegala and Ratnapura also visit the Panagoda Army Cantonment for their administrative formalities and they are expected to become our regular customers.
The Creators Welfare Shop was declared opened in a simple ceremony by Major General EMM Ambanpola USP , the Deputy Chief of Staff of the SL Army and the Colonel Commandant CES at the invitation of the CES Centre Commandant Brig PSM Perera Lsc on Friday (10) on the eve of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
The new welfare shop supplies all food commodities and essentials at concessionary rates and remains open till late in the evening.
The opening event was attended by Brig RM Peramune the Director Engineer Services, Brig Rathnayake Lsc the Project Manager DHQC Project, Brig PSM Perera Lsc the Centre Comdt CES , Colonel NPK Jayawardena the Deputy Centre Commandant CES , Senior Officers, Officers and Other Rankers.
