MAJOR GENERAL LANKA AMARAPALA VISIT ENGINEER SERVICES TRADE SCHOOL AND REGIMENTS IN WANNI THEATER

Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Director General Financial Management and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services, visited the Engineer Services Trade School (ESTS), 2 Engineer Services Regiment, and 9 Engineer Services Regiment on Thursday (02). The visiting Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Commandant of Trade School and the Commanding Officers of respective regiments on his arrival at camp premises and accorded a guard turnout showcasing the Corps' discipline.

At the ESTS, the Commandant briefed the Colonel Commandant about the course curriculum and objectives of the Trade School. Next, at regiment visits, respective commanding officers briefed the Colonel Commandant about their role, tasks, and progress on present construction projects in their area of responsibility. A group photo of the officers commemorated the visit, fostering unity and a shared purpose. Major General Lanka Amarapala then planted a Mango sapling.

The Colonel Commandant then addressed the troops, commending their dedication and professionalism. Further, during his address at ESTS, he emphasized the importance of using and learning about modern technology for training and development. A tea reception facilitated informal interaction and strengthened the bond between the Colonel Commandant and the personnel. Major General Lanka Amarapala then visited the camp facilities, gaining firsthand knowledge of the regiment's capabilities.

The Colonel Commandant concluded his visit by signing the Visitors' Book, a tradition solidifying his visit and the regiment's history. During the visit, Colonel Commandant was accompanied by the Center Commandant of CES, Brigadier KL Munasinghe USP.
