MAJOR GENERAL LANKA AMARAPALA RWP RSP ndc psc VISITED THE CES OFFICER COMMANDING TROOPS MULLAITIVU AND 15th ENGINEER SERVICES REGIMENT

The Director General Financial Management and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services, Major General Lanka Amarapala, visited the CES Officer Commanding Troops Mullaitivu and 15th Engineer Services Regiment, Bulnewa on May 4, 2024.

The day’s agenda was begun with the welcoming of the visiting Colonel Commandant by a guard turnout by the disciplined soldiers of the CES OC troop. Afterward, Major General Lanka Amarapala acquainted with the role, tasks, and progress of projects undertaken by the CES OC troops at Mullaitivu by briefing of the Staff Officer I, Major EI Chathuranga Lsc CES.

Next, the Colonel Commandant posed for a group photograph and planted a sapling to commemorate the visit. Next, the visiting Colonel Commandant addressed all ranks. During his troop address, he highlighted the importance of maintaining discipline and financial management in present economic downfall. After the troop address, Major General Lanka Amarapala inspected the camp premises and joined for a tea with all ranks before setting off to the 15th Engineer Services Regiment.

The visiting Colonel Commandant warmly welcomed with a drive pass on his arrival at the 15th Engineer Services Regiment, the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel SBTP Silva CES conducted a comprehensive briefing of their role, tasks, progress of construction projects, and concurrent welfare projects for soldiers and their families.

To mark the Colonel Commandant’s visit, Major General Lanka Amarapala was invited to pose for a photograph with officers, and to plant a sapling on the camp premises. Thereafter, the Colonel Commandant addressed officers and the other ranks of the of the 15th Engineer Services Regiment, emphasized the importance of maintaining military discipline, and urged them to be vigilant about foreign military employment scams.

The Colonel Commandant concluded his visit by leaving remarks in the Visitors' Book, a tradition solidifying his visit and the regiment's history. The Centre Commandant of CES, Brigadier KL Munasinghe USP also joined the visit.
