MAJOR GENERAL LANKA AMARAPALA INAUGURATES THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED WARRANT OFFICERS’ AND SERGEANTS’ MESS AT THE 1ST ENGINEER SERVICES REGIMENT

The warrant officers and senior non-commissioned officers of the 1st Engineer Services Regiment received the newly constructed WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess on Tuesday (14), amidst a brief ceremony. Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Director General Financial Management, and the Colonel Commandant of CES graced the occasion as the chief guests.

The Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel PAAS Perera CES, the Commanding Officer, and he was accorded a drive pass. Moments later, the Colonel Commandant unveiled the plaque and inaugurated the newly constructed WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess amidst religious rituals at an auspicious time.

Thereafter, Major General Lanka Amarapala inspected the new facilities, including the accommodation areas, messing area, and bar facility, along with other senior officers.

At the same time, the promising Colonel Commandant was invited to lay the foundation stone for the proposed Corporals’ Club at the 1st Engineer Services Regiment as part of fulfilling another basic facility for hardworking creators. The Director Engineer Services, Brigadier YKS Rangika psc ptsc, the Centre Commandant, Brigadier KL Munasinghe USP, and the Brigadier Admin and Quartering, 1 Corps, Brigadier NWPSM Perera, also joined alongside the Colonel Commandant to lay foundation stones.

To commemorate the visit of Major General Lanka Amarapala, he was invited to plant a sapling and pose for photographs with senior officers, officers, and senior non-commissioned officers. After that, the Colonel Commandant joined for a tea with the officers, and he commended the talents and skills of the troops who were able to complete this project within the four-month period. He concluded the event by wishing success in future endeavors by leaving remarks in the visitor's book.

The Director Engineer Services, the Centre Commandant of the CES, the Brigadier Administration and Quartering, 1 Corps, as well as senior officers, officers, and other ranks, witnessed the event.
