In recognition of their outstanding performance, dedication, and commitment, shining sportsmen representing the Sri Lanka Army in the Asian Confederation Hockey Tournament and the South Asian Kabaddi Tournament have been honoured with privilege money by the Directorate of Sports. This commendable initiative underscores the Army's commitment to promoting sportsmanship and excellence among its ranks.
The privilege money, awarded to Corporal Jayasundara DMIK and Lance Corporal Sanjeewa AP for representing in the 2022 Asian Hockey Games and securing the 2nd Runners-up position, and Lance Corporal Kumara KDMP for representing in the 2022 Asian Games Kabaddi and securing the Silver Medal on 26 March 2024, marks a significant acknowledgment of their dedication, skill, and relentless pursuit of victory. The ceremony, presided over by the Colonel Commandant of CES and Director General Financial Management, Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, served as a testament to the Army's unwavering support for its athletes.
Brigadier KL Munasinghe USP, the Centre Commandant of CES, Brigadier NWPSM Perera, the BAQ of 1 Corps, senior officers, and officers were also present at the awarding ceremony.
