The Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant SLE, Major General H J S Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc visits the Regimental Centre, Corps of Engineer Services on 11 December 2020 and he was warmly welcomed by the Colonel Commandant Corps of Engineer Services, Major General R Ganegoda psc.
In accordance with the military traditions, Chief of Staff of the Army was accorded a Guard Turnout at the entrance of the Corps of Engineer Services. Thereafter the Chief of Staff of the Army offered floral tributes at the CES War Heroes Monument and commemorated the fallen war heroes of the Corps of Engineer Services. Subsequently a formal Guard of Honour was accorded to Major General H J S Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc by the troops of Corps of Engineer Services.
Thereafter, the Chief of Staff of the Army addressed the All Ranks at the RHQ CES Other Ranks’ Mess. Afterwards, the Colonel Commandant CES, showing the gratitude of all members of the Corps of Engineer Services to the Chief of Staff for undertaking the visit presented a memento to the Chief of Staff of the Army.
The Director General Engineer Services and Colonel Commandant CES Major General R Ganegoda psc, the Centre Commandant CES Brigadier K M S Kumara, Deputy Centre Commandant CES Colonel S N Kithulgoda USP, The Director Projects and Constructions Civil Security Department Colonel G D H K Wijenayake , The Colonel Engineer Services Col E A D K Edirisinghe , Commandant Engineer Services Workshop Colonel G P H Chandrarathne and Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in this event adhering to the Coivd 19 rules and regulations.
