MAJ GEN LANKA AMARAPALA RWP RSP ndc psc VISITED THE 4 ENGINEER SERVICES REGIMENT

Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Director General of Financial Management, and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services, on a significant visit to 4 Engineer Services Regiment in Panadura, marked a day of camaraderie and discussions. The visit took place on 28 November 2023.

As the Colonel Commandant arrived at the main entrance, the Commanding Officer (Overlooking) Maj WC Deshapriya CES, extended a warm welcome. The precision and discipline exhibited during the guard turnout set the tone for the day, emphasizing the professionalism and dedication of the unit.

The Colonel Commandant was then briefed by the Commanding Officer (Overlooking) on the unit's tasks and responsibilities, providing insights into the vital role that 4 ESR plays in supporting and enhancing the capabilities of the military.

A significant moment during the visit was the planting of a sapling. Afterward, a group photograph was taken. Later, the Colonel Commandant addressed all ranks and stressed the importance of maintaining good discipline, upholding professionalism, maintaining correct procedures for financial matters, taking measures for drug prevention, and the continuous need for rigorous training.

The Colonel Commandant conducted an inspection of the camp compound (Industrial timber workshop, welding section, aluminum section) paying particular attention to the welfare facilities available to the soldiers. He also took this as an opportunity to interact with officers, other ranks, and civil staff of the 4 Engineer Services Regiment.

The visit concluded with the Colonel Commandant signing the Visitors Book at the Officers' Mess. This formal act signifies the respect and appreciation for the hospitality extended by the unit and immortalizes the visit in the unit's history. The event provided an opportunity for camaraderie, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose among the personnel.

The Colonel Commandant's visit to 4 ESR was not only a routine inspection but a celebration of unity, growth, and commitment. The day's events, from guard turnout to the planting of the sapling, showcased the strength and resilience of the unit.
