MAJ GEN LANKA AMARAPALA RWP RSP ndc psc MAIDEN VISIT TO 17 ENGINEER SERVICES REGIMENT

The Director General Financial Management and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services, Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, inaugurated the Creators Book Shop of 17 Engineer Service Regiment at Diyatalawa on Wednesday (07).

Thereafter, the Colonel Commandant made his maiden visit to 17 Engineer Services Regiment. On his arrival at the camp premises, he was welcomed by the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel EADP Edirisinghe Lsc CES, followed by a guard turnout showcasing the regiment's discipline.

Next, the Commanding Officer briefed the Colonel Commandant on the unit's tasks, responsibilities, and recent achievements, highlighting its vital role in supporting the military. Major General Lanka Amarapala then planted a sapling, symbolizing the regiment's commitment to environmental responsibility and future success.

A group photo of the officers commemorated the visit, fostering unity and shared purpose. The Colonel Commandant then addressed the troops, commending their dedication and professionalism.

The colonel commandant next had an interaction with all ranks over a cup of tea where he recalled rich history of Creators. Next, Major General Lanka Amarapala inspected the camp facilities, gaining firsthand knowledge of the regiment's capabilities. He also addressed the officers, providing valuable leadership and regimental guidance.

He concluded his visit by signing the Visitors' Book, a tradition solidifying his visit and the regiment's history. This significant event highlighted the regiment's professionalism, dedication, and vital role in the Sri Lankan military, further strengthening the bonds within the unit.

Brigadier YKS Rangika psc ptsc, the Director of Engineer Services, Colonel KL Munasinghe USP, the Centre Commandant of the CES, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks joined the occasion.
