Lt Col KDS Lankathilake psc CES assumed duties as the Commanding Officer of 2 Engineer Services Regiment on 07 March 2025 at Headquarters of 2 ESR, Anuradhapura.
He was a proud product of Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala and was enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army in year 2000 as an Officer Cadet in intake 18 of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence Academy.
Prior to this appointment he has held an appointment of Assistant Secretary to Chief of Defence Staff. Other key appointments he has held were Staff Officer I (Media) at Office of the Chief of Defence Staff, Staff Officer II at Comd’s Secretariat Office, Staff Officer I at Comd’s Secretariat Office, Second in Command, Chief Instructor at Engineer Services Trade School, The Squadron Commander at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, The Adjutant and Garrison Engineer.
He has followed Passed Staff College Course, Engineer Officers Degree Engineering Course, India and Advance Staff and Command Course, England.
