A get-together was organised for the retired Officers and Other Ranks of Corps of Engineer Services on 19 November 2023 at the Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters. The event began with a meaningful speech to promote the welfare of the retired Officers and ORs as per the direction of the Commander of the SL Army and the concept of Colonel Commandant of Corps of Engineer Services Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc.
The CES Veterans Day at the Regimental Centre Panagoda was a meaningful occasion, paying homage to the legacy of service and sacrifice that defines the Corps of Engineer Services. As the CES continues to move forward, this day serves as a reminder of the enduring spirit of duty and honor that unites generations of military personnel within the Corps.
The event provided a platform for veterans to share their experiences, fostering a sense of connection and solidarity among those who have dedicated their lives to the Corps of Engineer Services. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in conversations, recognize their problems, offer support and implement solutions, exchange stories, and reflect on the shared values that unite them.
Centre Commandant of CES Colonel YKS Rangika psc ptsc represented the Colonel Commandant CES as the chief guest and Deputy Centre Commandant of CES Colonel MSD Perera USP ptsc and many senior officers, officers and retired officers, and Other Ranks participated in this event.
