HE THE PRESIDENT MAITHRIPALA SIRISENA DECLARES OPEN THE “METHSIRI SEVANA” THE 4 - STORIED KIDNEY CARE, WELFARE & RESEARCH’ CENTRE CONSTRUCTED BY THE 2ND ENGINEER SERVICES REGIMENT.
HE the President Maithripala Sirisena declared open the Methsiri Sevana” the 4-storied Kidney Care, Welfare & Research’ Centre constructed by the troops of 2nd Engineer Services Regiment with the support of fellow Navy and Air Force troops on 20 March 2019. The Project was undertaken by the 2nd Engineer Services Regiment on the direction of Lieutenant General N U M M W Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC, the Comd of the Army. The new facility building consists of 23 beds and 2 wards, counseling room, research room and other medical facilities, fully functional with solar panels, and accommodation for patients arriving at Anuradhapura Hospital for dialysis and related treatments. The new Facility Building was constructed by the troops of 2nd Engineer Services Regiment and Commanded by Lieutenant Colonel H B C Mahendra ptsc CES , the Project Manager & Commanding Officer 2nd Engineer Services Regiment (CES), Captain N Nanayakkara CES, Lieutenant TGDN Suraweera CES, Second Lieutenant GKPN Samarawickrama CES and hundreds of energetic Other Rankers.
