The Director Engineer Services of the Directorate of Engineer Services of the Sri Lanka Army, Brigadier YKS Rangika psc ptsc and the Staff Officers of Dte of Eng Svcs visited the Engineer Services Regiments established in Northern Province.
At the beginning, DES inspected 5th Engineer services Regiment, Iyakachchi located at Security Force Headquarters Jaffna on 15 December 2024. Following day he visited the 11 Engineer Services Regiment at Killinochchi and finally he concluded the visit from Officer Commanding Troops Mullaitiuv on 17 December 2024.
During the visit The DES inspected the progress of the relocation of 5 ESR in Killinochchi and he visited the Officer Commanding Troops, Mullaitiuv.
Upon the arrival the DES was warmly welcomed by the respective Commanding Officers of 5 ESR and 11 ESR and Staff Officer I of OC TPS MLT and accorded with a guard turnout demonstrating the Regiments’ military discipline. Then the DES posed for a group photograph with the officers and inspected each camp premises concerning the operational conditions, living standards of soldiers, handling of Engineering Stores and ongoing engineering projects of each unit. During the Troops Address DES commended the soldiers’ dedicated service and further instructions were given to uplift the standards of the personal and professional lives of the soldiers.
During the visit DES mainly concerned on the relocation of 5 ESR at Kilinochchi and 11 ESR at Diyathalawa and further instructions were given to respective Commanding Officers to follow correct procedures in handing over and taking over of the camps.
Staff Officers from the Directorate of Engineer Services joined the visit.
