CORPS OF ENGINEER SERVICES CONSTRUCTION CONTINGENT DEPLOYED IN MALI RETURNS HOME

55 Other Ranks of the Corps of Engineer Services deployed in Construction Contingent in Mali returned home this morning (05 December) after completing 6 month long tenure of service at the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA). A simple welcome ceremony organized by the Sri Lanka Army took place at the Bandaranaike International Airport premises, headed by Major General K A P J Ratnayake Lsc, the Director General Engineer Services and Colonel Commandant CES, together with Colonel R Ganegoda psc, the Centre Commandant CES and Senior Officers. The CES Construction Contingent consisting of 2 Officers and 63 Other Ranks who initially left for Mali carried out the construction of accommodation buildings, sanitary facilities, stores and other building requirements to facilitate the incoming Combat Convoy Company (CCC) of the Sri Lanka Army in December.
