THE CORPS OF ENGINEER SERVICES BIDS FAREWELL TO COLONEL N P K JAYAWARDANA
A farewell dinner was hosted in honour of Colonel N P K Jayawardana on 26 September 2017 who retired after completion of 32 years of distinguished military service in the Army. \r\nCol N P K Jayawardana joined the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on 28 July 1986 as a Cadet Officer under the “Volunteer Intake 5”. He was commissioned in the rank of Second Lieutenant on 07 December 1986 and posted to 2(V) SLSR. He joined the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army under the “Intake VF-1” on 01 June 1990 and was posted to then Works Services Sri Lanka Engineers.\r\nDuring his military career he has served in every theatres of operation holding number of key appointments namely \r\n• Officiating Commandant - Engineer Services Central Workshop \r\n• Commanding Officer - 7 ESR (V)\r\n• Colonel (AQ) - 54 Div\r\n• Deputy Centre Commandant - RHQ CES\r\n• Colonel (AQ) - SF HQ (Mullaitivu)\r\n \r\nOn the same day the Corps of Engineer Services bade farewell to Lt Col K L Gamini CES who had already retired from the Corps of Engineer Services after 8 years of distinguished military career as a Civil Engineer.\r\nThe Director General Engineer Services and the Colonel Commandant CES Major General K A P J Ratnayake Lsc graced the occasion as the chief guest.\r\n
