COLONEL COMMANDANT VISITS 4 ENGINEER SERVICES REGIMENT

The Military Secretary and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services, Major General IANB Perera RWP USP ndu psc made his first visit as the 15th Colonel Commandant to 4th Engineer Services Regiment , Panadura on 23 July 2024.

The Colonel Commandant, after being received by the Commanding Officer Lt Col GA Bandula USP Lsc CES was accorded with a Guard Turnout at the entrance.

In-line with the programme, Colonel Commandant was accompanied to the Commanding Officer’s office for CO’s briefing on the current operational and administration commitment of the unit followed by the group photograph with unit’s officers. Afterward, a mango sapling was planted to mark his visit.

Then the colonel commandant addressed the troops of the units and had an informal interaction with all ranks over a cup of tea. Thereafter, an inspection of the camp compound was conducted, paying particular attention to the welfare facilities available to the soldiers.

He concluded his visit by signing the Visitors' Book, a tradition solidifying his visit and the regiment's history. This significant event highlighted the regiment's professionalism, dedication, and vital role in the Sri Lankan military, further strengthening the bonds within the unit.

The Centre Commandant Corps of Engineer Services, Brigadier KL Munasinghe USP attended the day’s programme.
