In order to inaugurate the first working day of the New Year – 2020, a simple ceremony was organized at Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters premises at Panagoda
All Officers and Other Ranks serving at the Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Centre and 1st Engineer Services assembled in front of the Regimental Headquarters building. Col K M S Kumara the Centre Commandant CES hoisted the National Flag and Colonel SN Kithulgoda USP, the Deputy Centre Commandant hoisted the Army Flag.
National Anthem and the Army song were sung by all Officers and Other Ranks present and two minute silence was observed to honour the fallen war heroes. The State Allegiance Pledge was read out by Maj RPA Rohana Lsc the Regimental Adjutant.On 2 January 2020 a New Year Tea Table was organized for All Ranks serving under the Regimental Centre to mark the new year and Brigadier R Ganegoda psc the Colonel Commandant CES and the Director Engineer Services graced this occasion as the chief gust. He also addressed the Troops of explaining the importance of performing duties well while giving priority to their families as well.
