The Corps of Engineers Services (CES) Regimental Headquarters in Panagoda came alive with color, laughter, and tradition as it hosted a vibrant Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival for its officers and their families on 10 April 2025. The event took place at the Officers' Mess premises and was organized with the aim of strengthening camaraderie and unity among the CES family.
A wide range of traditional New Year games were organized for both children and adults, rekindling fond memories and bringing smiles to every face and the atmosphere was filled with excitement and friendly competition.
Adding to the celebratory spirit, a beautifully arranged New Year tea table offered an array of traditional sweetmeats and festive delicacies, allowing everyone to enjoy the flavors of the season together.
Approximately 300 personnel took part in the celebration, which proved to be a wonderful platform for bonding, joy, and shared cultural heritage.
The event was graced by the presence of the Colonel Commandant of CES, Major General KAN Rasika Kumara ndc psc, along with Mrs. Anupama Rathnayake, the President of the CES Seva Vanitha Branch as the Chief Guests.Their presence added prestige and warmth to the occasion.
The 2025 New Year Festival was not just a celebrationit was a meaningful event that brought the CES family closer, reinforcing values of unity, culture, and shared happiness.
