Brigadier R Ganegoda psc , the Director Engineer Services assumed duties as the 12th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services during a charming ceremony rich with military formalities on 10 August 2019 at the Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters.
Upon arrival, the new Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by Col K M S Kumara the Centre Commandant CES at the main entrance of Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters and accorded with a Guard Turnout. Thereafter, he laid a floral wreath at the War Heroes’ Monument to pay tribute to the fallen War Heroes.
After a short while , a colourful Ceremonial Parade was accorded in honour of new Colonel Commandant at the RHQ CES parade ground. Subsequently, amidst religious observances Brigadier R Ganegoda psc placed his signature in an official document to symbolically signify the acceptance of the new office.
After the assumption of duties, the Colonel Commandant addressed all Officers present and appeared for a Group Photograph with All Ranks.
Towards the end of the ceremony, the new Colonel Commandant, participated in refreshments with All Ranks and took time off to share views with a the attendees. Thereafter he participated in a luncheon with all Officers present.
A large number of Senior Officers , Officers and Other Ranks took part in this event.
