Brigadier KMS Kumara, the Director Engineer Services assumed duties as the 13th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services during a charming ceremony rich with military formalities on 11 Sep 2021 at the Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters.
Upon arrival, the new Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by Brig SN Kithulgoda USP the Centre Commandant CES at the main entrance of Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters and accorded with a Guard Turnout. Thereafter, he laid a floral wreath at the War Heroes’ Monument to pay tribute to the fallen War Heroes.
After a short while, amidst religious observances Brig KMS Kumara placed his signature in an official document to symbolically signify the acceptance of the new office.
After the assumption of duties, the Colonel Commandant appeared for Offices group photograph then sapling a mango tree, to mark this occasion in CES premises.
Towards the end of the ceremony, the new Colonel Commandant, participated in refreshments with All Ranks and took time off to share views with a the attendees. Thereafter he participated in a lunch on with all Officers present.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in this event adhering to the Coivd 19 rules and regulations.
