The Corps of Engineer Services bade farewell to Brig K Wirasinghe USP the Brigadier (A/Q) of SFHQ (J) on 25 August 2024 who is to be retired from the Army on 26 August 2024 after rendering a 34 years of exemplary and distinguished service to the Corps of Engineer Services, Sri Lanka Army and the Nation.
Upon the arrival, He was warmly welcomed by Brigadier KL Munasinghe USP, the Centre Commandant CES at the Main Entrance of the Corps of Engineer Services Regimental Headquarters. After receiving the Guard Turnout, he placed floral tributes at the CES War Heroes Memorial in honour of fallen War Heroes.
The outgoing senior officer received a colourful Ceremonial Parade as a tribute for his distinguished service. Thereafter he appeared for group photograph with Officers of the corp.
After that he attended the All Ranks Tea Party and shared his thoughts with the Officers and Other Ranks partaken. The event culminated with a street lining given to Brig K Wirasinghe USP with farewell bids "Jaya Sri" by Officers and Other Ranks lined up in a row before he departed from the Regimental Headquarters of the Corps of Engineer Services as the Senior Officer.
