THE ANNUAL ‘PIRITH’ CEREMONY TO INVOKE BLESSINGS TO All SERVING AND RETIRED OF THE CORPS OF ENGINEER SERVICES

An all-night ‘Pirith’ chanting, organized by the Regimental Centre CES on the celebration of forthcoming 74th Corps Day Anniversary on 10 January 2024, got underway on Friday, 05 January 2024 evening at the RHQCES premises. Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Director Financial Management and the Colonel Commandant CES, together with Mrs. Surangi Amarapala, the President, CES Seva Vanitha Branch, Brig YKS Rangika psc ptsc, Commandant of Army School of Logistics, Col KL Munasinghe USP, Centre Commandant CES, Senior Officers, Spouses, Other Ranks, and Retired Officers attended the event.

The Venerable Maha Sangha were accompanied in a colorful procession of fireworks, whip crackers, dancers and the cultural troupe to the all ranks mess. The chanting commenced just after the offering of the tray of betel by the Colonel Commandant.

With the Offering of the ‘Heel Daana’ on the following day morning to the monks at the same venue brought the Buddhist religious ceremonies to an end.
