7 (V) ESR WELCOMES VISITING COLONEL COMMANDANT OF CORPS OF ENGINEER SERVICES

The Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and the 15th Colonel Commandant of Corps of Engineer Services Major General IANB Perera RWP USP ndu psc made his official visit to the 7 (V) Engineer Services Regiment at Athurugiriya on 15th July 2024.

He was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 7 (V) ESR, Major MPS Nadeeshan Lsc CES and accorded a Guard Turnout at the entrance as per formal military traditions.

According to the itinerary, the Colonel Commandant witnessed the comprehensive unit introductory presentation conducted by the Commanding Officer. Thereafter he planted a mango sapling at the camp premises to mark his visit.

Subsequently, the Colonel Commandant addressed all ranks and then the Commanding Officer presented memento to the Colonel Commandant on behalf of all officers and other ranks of the unit in order to mark his official visit to 7 (V) ESR. Following that he posed for a group photograph with the officers of the battalion.

Then an informal interaction with Major General Buddhika Perera and all ranks were made over a cup of tea and he visited the camp premises while giving guidance for progressive improvements of the unit.

The day’s proceedings were concluded by signing the Visitors’ Book by the Colonel Commandant to solidify the unit’s history.

The Centre Commandant Brigadier KL Munasinghe USP and the Adjutant of RHQ CES joined the visit.
