As part of the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the Corps of Engineer Services (CES), Inter-Regiment Volleyball Tournament was held at the Regimental Headquarters Volley ball court in Panagoda. The tournament, which spanned three days from 22nd December to 24th December, brought together a spirited competition among fourteen teams representing regiments of the Corps.
The participating teams included 1 ESR, 2 ESR, 3 ESR, 4 (V) ESR, 6(V) ESR, 7 (V) ESR, 8 (V) ESR, 9 (V) ESR, 10 (V) ESR, 12 (V) ESR, 14 (V) ESR, 15 (V) ESR, ESTS and ESCWKSP. These teams showcased remarkable talent and teamwork, competing fiercely for the championship. The event was not only a display of sportsmanship but also a testament to the camaraderie and dedication within the CES.
The final match on December 24 was a thrilling encounter between the teams of 7 (V) ESR and 15 (V) ESR. After an intense game, 7 (V) ESR emerged victorious, winning 3-0 in a dominant performance. The victory was celebrated by the players and supporters alike, as 7 ESR claimed the title of champions.
The final match was witnessed by the Centre Commandant Brigadier NWPSM Perera, the Deputy Centre Commandant, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the corps.
