1st Engineer Services Regiment celebrated its 68th anniversary in a grand scale on 03 August 2018 with the participation of large number of Officers and Other Ranks . A customary Guard of Honour followed by a ceremonial parade was accorded to Lt Col GWASB Muhandiramge USP CES , the Commanding Officer 1st Engineer Services.
Thereafter. a Guard of Honour was presented to Col R Gasnegoda psc , the Centre Comdt CES and Maj Gen K A P J Ratnayake Lsc, the Director General Engineer Services and Colonel Commandant CES who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
A series of sports events followed by several spectacular entertainment events including a “Commando Canine show” and a “Sandow” show were among the main attractions of the day, followed by a All Ranks Lunch.
In t he evening a Musical Extravaganza was conducted with the participation of Senior Officers, Officers , their family members , Other Ranks and their family members and civilian employees.
