12 (V) ESR ANNUAL SEVA VANITHA EVENT BRINGS JOY AND SUPPORT TO CIVILIAN STAFF’S CHILDREN

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, 12 (V) Engineer Services Regiment held its annual Seva Vanitha event on January 15, 2024, at the unit headquarters premises. The event, organized with the guidance of the Chairperson of CES Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Surangi Amarapala, aimed to contribute to the welfare of the children of civil servants working within 12 (V) ESR.

Mrs Surangi Amarapala, Chairperson of the Corps of Engineer Services Seva Vanitha Branch graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Among the esteemed attendees were Chief Maintenance Engineer, MOD Col KH Kodithuwakku, accompanied by his spouse Mrs Champika Mathota, Commanding Officer 12 (V) ESR Maj KWGUM Gunathilake CES, accompanied by his spouse Mrs Sewwandi Abeyrathne and the Coordinating Officer of CES Seva Vanitha Branch, Maj SSC Chandrathilake CES.

The warm welcome extended to Mrs Surangi Amarapala was orchestrated by Mrs Sewwandi Abeyrathne at the entrance of 12 (V) ESR Regimental Headquarters. Lt KLPP Liyanage CES delivered a gracious welcome speech, setting the tone for an eventful day ahead.

The highlight of the event was the generous donation of stationary and school items to benefit the children of Civilian Staffs associated with 12 (V) ESR. Mrs Surangi Amarapala took center stage, personally gifting six children from the Kamburupitiya area, while another five children received gift packs as they resided outside the locality.

As the ceremony drew to a close, participants gathered for a convivial tea session, sharing stories and experiences. The event not only showcased the commitment of 12 (V) ESR to community welfare but also emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
