PASSING OUT PARADE OF PROVOST COURSE NO- 85 HELD AT THE SCHOOL OF MILITARY POLICE

The Passing Out Parade of Provost Course No. 85 comprised 1 x newly commissioned Provost Officer and 32 x Provost Recruits was held with grandeur and military precision at the Parade Ground of the School of Military Police, Giritale, on 08 November 2025.

The Commandant of the School of Military Police, Colonel I R Hanthanearachchi, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Major General B G S Fernando USP Hdmc psc.

The Chief Guest was accorded a Guard Turnout in his honour, followed by the Passing Out Parade, commanded by Major H M C C Sooriyabandara USP, the Chief Instructor of the School of Military Police which showcased the culmination of intensive training, reflecting the transformation of trainees into disciplined Provost Officers and Soldiers of high calibre.

The event featured a series of demonstrations and displays, highlighting the trainees’ skills, endurance and discipline acquired throughout the course. These included an impressive Drill Display, Physical Training Display, Band Display by the Regimental Brass Band and a Mini Tattoo performed by the Regimental Tattoo Team, all of which demonstrated ceremonial excellence and professionalism.

During the ceremony, the Chief Guest presented awards to the following participants for their exceptional performances:
