REGIMENTAL CENTRE SRI LANKA CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE HOLDS AN OVERNIGHT PIRITH CHANTING CEREMONY IN COMMEMORATION WITH 35TH REGIMENTAL DAY ANNIVERSARY

In celebration of the 35th Regimental Day Anniversary, the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police organized an overnight Pirith Chanting Ceremony on 27 March 2025. The ceremony aimed to invoke blessings upon Provost fallen war heroes, serving Officers and Other Ranks, retired Officers and Other Ranks and civil staff of the Regiment. The ceremony was held under the esteemed guidance of The Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General ULJS Perera RSP USP nps psc.

The religious activities commenced with the colourful procession followed by the overnight pirith chanting programme and the venerable Maha Sangha conducted a dhamma sermon, invoking blessings for the organization, injured, Provost fallen war heroes and their families. An almsgiving for 20 venerable monks was offered in the morning at the Regimental Centre premises.

The Military Secretary of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General ULJS Perera RSP USP nps psc, along with the Provost Marshal of Sri Lanka Army Brig RD Sallay ndc, Centre Commandant Brig MMMP Mahesh Kumara, Council Members, Other Senior Officers, Officers, Retired Officers, Regimental Sergeant Majors, Serving and Retired Non-Commissioned Officers and Family Members of Provost fallen war heroes participated to the event.
