HEARTWARMING DONATION PROGRAMME AT ST. LUCAS ELDER’S HOME BY SEVA VANITHA BRANCH OF THE SRI LANKA CORPS OF MILITARY POLICE

On 26th October 2024, the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, in collaboration with the 4th Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, organized a charitable donation programme at St. Lucas Elder’s Home in Puththur. The initiative was carried out under the directions of Colonel Commandant Major General SAND Edirisinghe RWP RSP Hdmc psc and supervised by Brigadier RD Sallay ndc, Provost Marshal of the Sri Lanka Army, with guidance from Mrs. Manisha Kotalawala, President of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police. The project was also supported by the Commanding Officer of the 4th Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major WDC Siriwardena psc Lsc.

The President of the Seva Vanitha Branch received a warm welcome with the traditional Arathi Dance, symbolizing the cultural heritage of Jaffna. The event featured an entertainment programme and a luncheon, followed by the distribution of individual gift packs containing daily essentials and medicinal items for the residents. Additional donations included rations and mosquito nets for the home’s use.

Among those in attendance were the Provost Marshal, the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, the Centre Commandant, the Commandant of the School of Military Police and the Commanding Officers of the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, accompanied by their families.

This compassionate event not only provided essential support for the elderly residents of St. Lucas Elder’s Home but also strengthened community ties and exemplified the generosity and dedication of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.
