SRI LANKA CROPS OF MILITARY POLICE TOOK OVER THE CEREMONIAL DUTIES AT PRESIDENT’S HOUSE

President's Ceremonial Guard is a noble and historic good old duty in which the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police bestowed with opportunity in honor of performing since 1978. Ever since then up to date, the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) has carried out these colored ceremonial formalities which are accorded to HE the President reflecting the pride of the Sri Lanka Army.br>

Simultaneously, the responsibility of hoisting the National flag at Galle Face Green also was taken over by the SLCMP on 01 July 2024 onwards. These allotted ceremonial duties were performed by the specially trained troops of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.

The ceremonial exchanging of duties were carried out under the supervision of the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police, Major General SAND Edirisinghe RWP RSP Hdmc psc and Provost Marshal of SL Army Brig R D Sallay ndc. From this year onwards , the responsibility of the President's Ceremonial Guard are performed by the 5th Regiment, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.

The Commanding Officer of 5 SLCMP, Major I M K Suddagala Lsc, Senior Officers from the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police and the Sri Lanka Air Force participated to the ceremonial formalities.
