A distinguished group of veterans of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP), including the President of the SLCMP Veterans’ Association, Major H M R P Gonawala (Retd), the National Organizer, WO 1 D M S Premasiri (Retd), the Treasurer, WO 1 G K A C Gunarathna (Retd), and the Assistant Secretary, WO 1 H J Janz (Retd), visited the Regimental Headquarters of the SLCMP on 13 September 2025.
The cordial meeting provided a valuable opportunity for the veterans to interact with the Col Comdt of SLCMP and discuss prospective activities that would further strengthen the bond between serving members and the veteran community.
The discussion was enriched by the presence of several key senior officers, including the Centre Commandant of the SLCMP, Brigadier R M K A S Rajanayake, and the SO 1 (Veterans Affairs), Lieutenant Colonel R G B S Premarathna USP Lsc.
The Colonel Commandant appreciated the commitment and enthusiasm of the veteran community and assured his fullest support for their future activities, emphasizing the Corps’ responsibility to preserve regimental pride and legacy through collaborative efforts.
